Boggs Local History Collection
Our local history collection. This collection contains reference books for in-house use only, as well as books available for check-out.

California Indian Library Collection
CILC is full of unique information on the indian tribes of northern and central California. It consists of things like sound recordings of interviews, dances, songs and legends, photographs, books, journal articles, and unpublished manuscripts and field notes. The material related to Shasta County is housed at the Redding Library in the Boggs Local History Area.

Boggs/Local History
Microfilm

Online eBooks, audiobooks, movies and music. Check out and download some great media. Also available are over 15,000 free public domain titles which you can download and keep.

Bound volumes, online resources, periodicals, newsletters, and microfilm are available at the Redding Library to assist with genealogy and family history research. Plus there are weekly and monthly help available, two computers devoted solely to genealogy as well as a computer class.

Government Documents
The Federal, State and Local Documents Collection provides a current and historical record of the workings of the Federal government, Federal statute, code and regulation materials, statistical data, information on topics of interest to the general public, local government agencies, and businesses.

Local Authors
A collection of books from many of our local authors. Many different genres from adult non-fiction and mystery to children's picture books.

Hot Off the Press
Hot Off the Press is a special collection of new books selected from the New York Times Bestseller's List. Each title has multiple copies so that you might be able to read your favorite authors sooner.

Magazines & Newspapers
We have a great many magazines and newspapers available to peruse. They are available in various formats including printed copy, microfilm and online databases.

New Items Shelf

Veterans Resources
A collection geared especially for Califonia veterans and their families. Find information and resources for life after the military. Including resume guides for military-to-civilian transitions, PTSD and health resources, memoirs,and much more.


Special Services

ADA
The Redding Library provides utilities and services for the disabled including: the Sorenson VP200 video phone, and an ADA software and hardware enabled computer.

Book Club Resources
We have many resources to help local book clubs. Book Boxes, Rooms, online databases and more.

Children's Garden
The beautiful Drury Harrill's Rose Garden is located outside the Redding Children's Library. Come see if the Garden is open for a special event or just for a visit!

Computers
Public Computers, Genealogy Computers, and a Computer Center are provided for public use and computer classes, as well as free access to Wi-Fi at all our branches.

Meeting Rooms & Study Rooms
