Join us for this month's Independent Lens film and discussion, The Donut King. Filmmaker Alice Gu tells the story of a Cambodian refugee who escaped to America and built an unlikely multi-million dollar empire baking America's favorite pastry, the donut.

This workshop is a brief introduction to entrepreneurship and the
creation and development of new business ventures. It includes a high
level overview of the critical success factors for entrepreneurs,
including business structures, the development of the business plan, and
permits and licensing procedures.

- Characteristics a successful entrepreneur
- Local license and permit requirements
- What you will need to know about business plans and financials

Joe Rodola comes to the SBDC with over 45 years experience in the
Credit field. 25 years in lending, 13 years as Director of CCCS Redding,
a debt consulting agency, 20 years teaching various financial classes,
10 year owner of his own service business (Joe Rodola's Debt Consulting)
and 8 years helping small business startups and helping them gain
access to capital for both SCED and the SBDC.
