Mission Statement

The Friends of the Anderson Library think of their library as an open doorway to the world. Knowledge, literature, travel, cooking, car restoration, fishing, backpacking, gardening, the Internet; whatever is your interest, we believe that the Anderson Library is the place for you!

We are a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the support of our free public library system. Members receive a seasonal newsletter, "The Last Word," which provides current information on Library hours, programs, and activities. The Friends encourage literacy and learning through their sponsorship of library events including storytimes, the summer reading program, and the author lecture series.

Memberships, Meetings, & Money

Your membership dues (or any additional donations) are tax-deductible, because FOAL is a non profit organization [501 ( c ) (3)], and all of the money goes to help the Anderson Library. Annual dues are $10.00 Senior (55+), $15.00 Individual, $25.00 Family, $50.00 Business. There are benefactor levels if you wish to give more. Board meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m., September through June, in the library meeting room. All members and guests are invited to attend.

Book Sales and Library Friends Groups Go Together

We have 2 to 4 book sales per year. Our current schedule includes one in the spring and one in the fall. Book sale proceeds support the purchase of library materials for the Anderson Library collections.

Meeting Times

The Friends of the Anderson Library meet at 11:30 a.m. on the second tuesday of the months they meet.
